Film, stage, shower, the essence of acting is the same: being yourself within the context of a character in a certain situation. Defining ‘yourself’ is the lifetime joy and sweat of committing to the most noble of art forms. Stagnancy is death, in life and art. Great acting reminds us of Reality, the great ache of the human spirit.
I believe that like being a hockey goalie, you have to be a little nuts to be an actor. Anything in life worth having isn’t safe. And to get somewhere special on this planet, you have to be a little crazy. I consider it a privilege to carry forward this art form with the highest integrity, passion and joy I can muster in the madness.
